interCHARM Polska 2007 - fair summary

May 24-26, 2007 Fourth Edition of International Cosmetics Trade Fair interCHARM Polska 2007 took place. More than 150 exhibitors from all over the world participated in the Fair.

The exhibitors from 20 countries (Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, Croatia, Czech Rep., France, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Korea, Latvia, The Netherland, Pakistan, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, UK, UAE) presented products innovations, raw materials and packaging novelties. The visitors represented mainly the business sector: cosmetics wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers. The merchants participated in the conference “Latest Development Trends of Cosmetic Market,” the hairdressers and beauticians – in seminars and shows prepared by the Magazine “TOP Professional”. The event was patronized by Ministery of Economy, Polish Chamber of Packaging and Polish Chamber of Commerce.

Awards for the best

The second time the prestigious interCHARM Polska Golden Medals were awarded to the best cosmetic companies. The Jury awarded the products not the companies. The awarded products have the right to present the Golden Medal image on its packages. Next day after the Golden Medal awarding ceremony the exhibitors presented the products on their stands.

  • THE BEST DEBUT on the Cosmetics Packaging market - Heinz Glas Działdowo and Heinz Plastics Polska for the packaging series FLAME.
  • THE BEST DEBUT on the finished products market the winner - the company Yarden and the bath salt from Dead Sea.
  • THE BEST DEBUT on Polish distributor of the foreign company - Adrion and the hair dryer with OZONO1 system.
  • INNOVATIONS on the finished products market the winner is Eveline Cosmetics for the series of Gold Therapy – Gold Threads of Youth.
  • INNOVATIONS on the cosmetics packaging market the awarded company is Eurovetrocap for the Vogue – transparent glass packaging series.

The above mentioned are not the only awards granted during International Cosmetics Trade Fair interCHARM Polska 2007. During the Press Conference provided the second day of the Fair with the presence of 60 journalists the company Eveline Cosmetics was awarded the prize “The Exporter of the Year”, and the company Dermaglin – certificate “The guarantee of the Best Quality” granted by the European Quality Center and Regional Promotion.

For Business and professionals

The first two days of the Trade Fair were dedicated to business, the lectures accompanying the event attracted mainly buyers/merchants, distributors, wholesalers representatives and cosmetics manufacturers. During the merchants’ conference “Latest Development Trends of Cosmetic Market” the lecturers were: Łukasz Pytliński – Vicepresident of the CEM Market and Public Opinion Research Institute, the lecturer of the Post-Graduate School of Jagiellonian University of Krakow “Methods and Techinques of Marketing Research” (specializing in quantitive methods of social and marketing research), Olgierd Łukaszewicz (Managing Partner of Catman Polska) and Agnieszka Górnicka – President of Management Board of Inquiry, who specializes in cosmetics market research in Poland and abroad.

The central subjects of the lectures included: shopping customs among the consumers, women-consumers customs in Poland, category management and promotion techniques in selling points. The second day of the conference was dedicated to Negotiation workshop – merchant’s game. During the seminar of Polish Packaging Chamber ,“Packaging for Cosmetics: Requirements, New Technologies, Materials”almost 40 participants were listening to the lecture of professor doctor habilitated engineer Stanisław Tkaczyk, the President of Polish Chamber of Packaging, Director of Polish Packaging Research and Development Centre. The main subjects were: Packaging evaluation according to the global migration limits, Certifications and packaging research and packaging market analysis in Poland. The lectures were closed by the discussion.

On Friday (May 25, 2007) took place the conference of Polish Chamber of Commerce Foreign Markets (Rynki Zagraniczne) “How to export safely” and the main subjects were: Best practise in dues management, how to check foreign partners’ credibility, Hhw to perform foreign debt collecting.

Hairdressing professionals participated in the trainings and workshops organized by the brands: Prosalon, Magnus, Kadus, Joico and Hairdreams. More than 300 hairdressers and stylists participated in the trainings. The beauticians and technologists were attracted by the “Novelties in Cosmetology”, seminar of PHD Jacek Arct, Katarzyna Pytkowska and other lecturers of School of Cosmetics and Healthcare (Wyższej Szkoły Zawodowej Kosmetyki i Pielęgnacji Zdrowia). During the seminar the participants could listen to: “Safety of using the cosmetics” (Legal regulations, cosmetic manufacturer’s and cosmetologist’s liability; Toxicological assessment of cosmetics; Can cosmetics cause cancer?- commentary on media information.) and “New active substances and technological solutions used in cosmetics (Penetration of active constituents – possibilities and limitations, active constituent carriers) Active constituents – biologically active peptides and other modern ingredients; Cosmetic regulation of skin colour- bleaching substances; melanogenesis regulatory agents and others; Sunscreens and other protective components- contemporary approach to UV protection; Cosmetics for sensitive skin- from skin physiology to modern recipe).

The Great Show for Stylists

On Saturday the Stylists’ could participate in a great event. – shows prepared by Polish National Hairdressing Team patronized by „TOP Professional” Magazine. Ziemowit Pędziwiatr – the presenter of Radio Kolor was conducting the Show. According to the rules the juniors of National Hairdressing Team were presenting the haircuts on the mannequins and the seniors – on their models. The Hairdressing National Team is representing Polish hairdressers during the most prestigious competitions in the world, including Art World Hairdressing Championship, where they present their experience and observe new trends presented by masters from all over the world. The National Team presentation during interCHARM Polska 2007 was possible thanks to help of Polish Hairdressers and Cosmeticians Commission of Polish Craft Association. The Team won lately several golden medals during international hairdressing championships.

During the fair shows Kadus stylists shared with the audience the secrets of preparing new collection „Time&Space”, accompanied by the interesting dancing arrangement. Magnus brand invited to participate in their Show the well known hairdressers: Alberto "GITANO" Gomez and Mike Marquez, who was in Poland for the first time. The impressive show was presented also by the company Matrix during “Four Elements” Show and well known Polish stylist Robert Galas, the owner of hairdressing network Freehair.
